Ismaili newly-appointed coach a Vuckovic said that he rejected some lucrative offers from Arabic Gulf sides in order to take over the club. The Serbian has officially become Brazilian coach Ricardo's successor at Ismaili by leading the club's Wednesday training. "I received many tempting offers from clubs the Gulf, but I signed for Ismaili because I know they have very good players with great potential," Vuckovic told FilGoal.com. "I was really impressed by someone like Mohamed Homos, who did very well for Egypt against Italy in the FIFA Confederations Cup." The former Hilal and Ittihad Jeddah tactician added that he knows how to deal with Arab players' mentality. "Working in Saudi Arabi, Qatar and Oman has enabled me to handle Arabic players properly," he said. "All I'm focused on at the moment is working with the board to keep our best players." Sherif Abdul-Fadil is one player who has been heavily linked with a move to Zamalek, but Vuckovic said that he'll try to convince the defender into staying.
