Mohamed Zidan's Dortmund failed to win for the third successive game after being held to a 1-1 draw by struggling side Energie Cottbus in the Bundesliga on Sunday. Turkish defender Cagdas Atan gave Cottbus the lead after 31 points with a powerful close-range shot after an initial cross struck the woodwork. Swiss striker Alexander Frei, Dortmund's top scorer, scored the equalizer five minutes later via a penalty. Egyptian forward Zidan was once again left on the bench before being introduced in the 74th minute instead of Paraguayan striker Nelson Valdez. He tried his luck on three occasions but his shots missed the target. Zidan, who excelled in Egypt's 2-2 friendly draw with Ghana on Wednesday, has scored four goals since joining Dortmund from Hamburg last summer. The draw leaves Dortmund in eighth place of the league table with 31 points as their hopes of claiming a European place are fading. Watch Cottbus goal Watch Frei goal
