Bayern Munich suffered their second defeat in the Bundesliga after losing to lowly side Energie Cottbus 2-0 on Saturday. Serbian striker Branko Jelic opened the scoring in the 18th minute when he converted Ervin Skela's cross from the right. Bayern's in-form winger Franck Ribery should have leveled the score 11 minutes later but his penalty was blocked by Cottbus keeper Gerhard Tremmel. Jelic scored his second for Cottbus in the 38th minute when he latched onto Stiven Rivic's through ball before slotting home past Oliver Kahn. Bayern are still in charge of the league table with 50 points, five ahead of second-placed Hamburg, who secured a 1-0 home victory over Borussia Dortmund. Peruvian striker Paulo Guerrero scored what proved to be the winner three minutes past the hour mark. Cottbus, who were at the bottom before beating Bayern, climbed up to 15th place.
