Mohamed Zidan's Dortmund maintained their fine start to their Bundesliga campaign after claiming a 1-0 away victory over Energie Cottbus on Saturday. American defender Neven Subotic scored what proved to be the winner in the first-half's additional time. Dortmund are third in the league table with seven points. Only goal difference separates them from leading duo Schalke and Hamburg. Egyptian forward Zidan, who joined Dortmund from Hamburg for the sake of regular football, was included in the starting line-up for the second consecutive game. But he failed to impress against Cottbus and was substituted three minutes past the hour mark, making way for Diego Klimowicz. In the 40th minute, Zidan made his first contribution to Dortmund's attacking attempts. He threaded a pinpoint pass into the path of Florian Kringe, who shot from the edge of the area but his effort was blocked by Cottbus guardian. Zidan tried his luck six minutes after the interval but his shot was easily collected by the keeper.
