Egypt coach Hassan Shehata has recalled Ahli midfielder Mohamed Barakat for Wednesday's friendly game against Ghana. Earlier on Friday, the Pharaohs' technical staff unveiled the majority of the squad for the exhibition. After Ahli's 2-1 victory over Sfaxien in the African Super Cup encounter, Shehata announced that the Red Devils' internationals Barakat, Ahmed Al-Sayed, Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Fathi and Ahmed Hassan have been named in the 21-man list. The mercurial Barakat wasn't included in Egypt's squad for more than two years. Last September, the 32-year-old fell out with Shehata, who accused the Ahli star of triggering a wave of illogical criticism against him. Former Zamalek star Shehata assured that as long as he's at the helm, Barakat would never return to Egypt fold. But eventually the versatile ace was granted a reprieve.
