Egyptian winger Mohamed Abdul-Wahed scored as Lierse thrashed UR Namur 4-0 on Saturday to move top of the Belgian second-division table. Abdul-Wahed doubled Lierse's lead three minutes past the hour mark after Jurgen Cavens had put them ahead through a 39th-minute penalty. The former Zamalek man, who also scored in last week's 1-1 draw with FC Liege, took his tally to nine league goals. Cavens notched his second of the night in the 64th minute before substitute Selemani Ndikumana completed the rout eight minutes from time. The Burundian striker connected with a fine cross from Egyptian full-back Ahmed Samir to fire home with his right foot. Samir was doubtful through illness but he managed to recover in time for the game. He was not at his best though, wasting several clear-cut opportunities. Lierse's victory moved them level on points with St Truiden at the table's summit as they aim to secure a top-flight place after playing two seasons in the lower division.
