Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez does not regret public criticism of his Manchester United counterpart Alex Ferguson as he aimed another swipe at the Scot. The Spaniard slammed Ferguson on Friday after the latter casted doubts over Liverpool's ability to sustain their Premiership superiority. Benitez, who will be investigated by the FA, watched his side losing two precious points at Stoke on Saturday, but does not believe his off-field row with Fergie had an influence on his players. "Maybe in 20 years nobody has said these things. Maybe a lot of people are thinking the same but they didn't want to say it. I don't regret saying it and I don't think it had any effect on the players," he told the post-match conference. "I've known him for five years now and people say that he was playing mind games but it's too early. "Maybe he is a little bit scared. "To talk too much about Liverpool isn't fair so he has to think about his own team, the problems they have and all the things they've been doing for the last 15 or 20 years, maybe they will think the same as me.
"He started talking a long time ago. It won't have the same effect on me because if he talks too much and too quickly then I won't understand so I will be happy." Point Benitez was left unfazed after his team failed to extend their summit lead against the struggling Potters. "It's a point, we're still at the top of the table and in a fantastic position," he said. The former Valencia coach fancies a draw in Sunday's crucial clash between United and Chelsea at Old Trafford. "I cannot change the game so I will stay at home, watch it on television and enjoy," added Benitez. "It is clear both cannot win. We will see what happens. A draw could be a perfect result."
