Emad Meteb put to bed Ittihad Jeddah exit rumors by producing a match-winning performance in his side's 1-0 victory over Ahli in the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Cup. The Egypt striker scored five minutes before the break to give Ittihad a precious win over arch-rivals Ahli on Wednesday. He shrugged off a challenge from his marker to divert a mis-hit shot into the net from close range. It was Meteb's ninth goal with Ittihad in all competitions since joining from Ahli on a one-year loan deal in the summer. The win put Ittihad on top of Group B with a maximum six points, three ahead of second-placed Ahli. Only winners of the four groups qualify for the competition's semi-final. Exit Reports Recent reports suggested that Meteb's days at Ittihad were numbered. Saudi paper Al-Medina newspaper said that Ittihad will offload the 25-year-old and Moroccan forward Hicham Aboucherouane in January to make room for new foreign arrivals. The club did not make any comments. However, Meteb's impressive goalscoring run is seemingly consolidating his place as a first-team regular at Ittihad. Watch Meteb's goal
