Ahli Dubai's on-loan midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou revealed on Friday that Blackburn Rovers have offered him a one-week trial. English reports claimed earlier in the day that Blackburn coach Paul Ince is keeping an eye on the Egyptian international, who was named the 2008 Nations Cup best player. "Blackburn offered me a trial but I couldn't fly to England due to commitments with Ahli Dubai," Abd-Rabou told Al-Hayat TV. "I'm just waiting for my team's permission to undergo this trial. A Premier League move will be a dream come true." Fellow Egyptian Ahmed Al-Muhammadi, who plays for one-time cup winners ENPPI, is currently undergoing a trial at Blackburn. Abd-Rabou also claimed that Hull City expressed interest in signing him when the transfer window opens in January. "Hull are a very good team who made a fine impact in the Premier League after sealing promotion."
Should Blackburn decide to step up their interest in the 24-year-old midfielder, they will have to open talks with Egyptian side Ismaili regarding a possible move. Abd-Rabou moved to Ahli Dubai from Ismaili on a two-season loan deal. Settled Abd-Rabou is pleased that he has started to settle in Dubai after a disappointing start to his season. The player's early displays have been below-par, to the extent that Ahli fans jeered him during a league game last month. "The fans expected me to make an immediate impact after my arrival, but I was not good," he admitted. "However, things have greatly improved and I began to gain the fans' trust," Abd-Rabou, who scored one league goal for Ahli Dubai so far, concluded.
