ENPPI climbed into second spot in the Egyptian League table after thrashing Olympic 5-1 in Alexandria on Friday. Midfielder Adel Mostafa opened the scoring seven minutes before the break with a superb shot from outside the area. Karim Adel drew Olympic level in the 58th minute when he capitalized on keeper Essam Mahmoud's failure to handle a tame cross to head into an empty net. Veteran defender Amr Fahim restored ENPPI's lead two minutes past the hour mark with a close-range volley. Ivorian striker Vincent Die Foneye added the third in the 80th minute after slotting the ball past Olympic's advancing keeper Caesar Ekow. Ahmed Raouf put the result beyond doubt four minutes later through a splendid back-heel before Die Foneye converted a late penalty to put the icing on the cake. ENPPI moved into second place in the league table with 23 points, two behind leaders Petrojet. Both sides, who are owned by petroleum companies, are enjoying a great run of form. However, it remains to be seen whether they would be able to mount a serious title challenge. Holders Ahli, who are seeking to win a fifth consecutive title, will go top should they win their four rescheduled games. Newcomers Olympic have been struggling since their stunning 3-1 victory over Zamalek last month. They lie second from bottom on 11 points.
