Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho, who has just recovered from a knee problem, faces another frustrating spell on the sidelines after sustaining an injury against Hull City. The Blues' coach Luiz Felipe Scolari was boosted by the return of the Portuguese defender last week but he will now have to do without him in the upcoming weeks. Carvalho limped off Wednesday's 3-0 Premiership victory over Hull after hurting his thigh. The 30-year-old will miss five games, including Tuesday's Champions League clash against Italian side AS Roma. Brazilian Alex is likely to fill in for him to partner John Terry in the heart of Chelsea's defense.
