Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo said he is sure UEFA will lift the game ban imposed on his team after the club's Champions League game against Marseille. UEFA decided to ban Atletico from playing their next three home games at Vicente Calderon after their fans' misconduct and racial abuse against Marseille last month. "We are convinced that our next game will be played at Vicente Calderon because we have done absolutely nothing wrong," Cerezo was quoted as saying by Marca. "There were no racial slurs during the Marseille game. If there were any troubles it was from the police not Atletico fans." Atletico will face Liverpool in Madrid on October 22nd, and Cerezo stressed that such ban would be a disaster for his team as they've no alternative venues to host the game. "We don't feel mistreated by UEFA, but we're paying the consequences of their earlier problems with Spanish police," added Cerezo. Atletico are currently top of Champions League group 4 with a 100% record of six points out of two games.
