Real Madrid bosses do not intend to splash their cash in the transfer market when the transfer window reopens in January. "Our plans, if all goes well, are to not recruit in January. We must keep the current squad, give confidence to the players and profit from each one of them," Real Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic told the Real Madrid television channel. The Merengues recruited only Rafael Van der Vaart this summer coming from Hamburg and missed three other targets: Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo, Valencia's David Villa and Villarreal's Santi Cazarola. Coach Bernd Schuster has reportedly put a list of players to be signed but none of them has been brought to the Bernabeu. "We have a squad of 24 players, and in Spain there are squads of 21 or 22 players. We have a big squad and we don't have plans to bring in any new players in January, but in football you never know what will happen," added Mijatovic. The Spanish Champions have already been linked with a host of players. But reports in the Spanish media have suggested that they will target a top quality striker and a winger to fill the gap left by the departure of Brazilian Robinho.
