Ismaili's caretaker coach Khaled Al-Qammash said his side arranged a friendly game with Ittihad Jeddah to prevent the players from getting bored during the international break. Egyptian League activities have been halted as the national team prepare for a crunch meeting against DR Congo in the World Cup qualifiers. Consequently, Ismaili accepted to face Saudi giants Ittihad on Sunday at their leisure. "We had to play a game during that international break. We don't want the players to get bored," Al-Qammash told FilGoal.com on Friday. "We will also have a chance to inject some new blood instead of the players who are away on international duty." Goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi, left-back Ahmed Samir Farag and midfielder Mohamed Hommos have been called up to Egypt's squad by coach Hassan Shehata.
