Zamalek goalkeeper Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed has announced that he will not extend his stay with the Cairo club come the end of the season, following recent criticism by club fans. The 29-year-old will run out of contract in June 2009, and he has informed Zamalek officials that he is not willing to remain at the club. "This will be my last season with Zamalek. I have officially notified the club that I will not renew my contract next season," Al-Sayed told FilGoal.com. "I respect Zamalek and I care about the club, that's why I preferred to announce my decision early so that they can look for a replacement." Reason Abdul-Wahed revealed that he was disappointed after Zamalek fans blasted him following the Whites' double defeat by Ahli in recent weeks. Zamalek were beaten by their arch rivals in the Champions League and Egyptian Super Cup as Abdul-Wahed conceded four goals in the process. "I made my decision after the fierce criticism that I received from some fans after the Ahli defeats," added the international guardian. "I have given everything to Zamalek and now I am looking forward to playing outside Egypt." Abdul-Wahed spent most of last season on the sidelines, following a serious knee injury, as Mohamed Abdul-Monsef was handed the responsibility in goal.
