Abdul-Monsef extends Zamalek stay

Goalkeeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef has ended uncertainty surrounding his future after penning a three-year contract extension with Zamalek, the club announced on Friday.
Zamalek will hold a press conference on Saturday to reveal the full details of Abdul-Monsef's new deal.
The Egypt stand-in guardian has been linked with a move away from Zamalek after several disputes with the club's board and fans.
Last year, Zamalek fans chanted angry slogans against Abdul-Monsef for a disastrous performance in an Arab Champions League encounter against Jordan's Faisali.
He initially decided to depart the Cairo giants, only to make a U-turn on his stance after being convinced to carry on by Zamalek board.
The 31-year-old keeper has publicly criticized Zamalek's technical staff recently for putting him on the bench in the Champions League clash against APR of Rwanda.
Although he used to play second-fiddle to Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed, Abdul-Monsef has been Zamalek's first-choice keeper due to the former's persistent injury problems.
