Amr Zaki is set to join Wigan Athletic on loan from Zamalek after he penned a new deal with the latter, the striker's official site AmrZaky.com said. Following his infamous rift with chairman Mamdouh Abbas, Zaki met with board member Ahmed Tawfeek late on Sunday to resolve the problem. Subsequently, the Egypt striker agreed to extend his contract with the Whites until 2012, before the 'club gave him green light to make his dream move'. Wigan will pay ₤1.5M to Zamalek in a one-year loan deal, with an option to buy him permanently for ₤4.5 next season. Zaki is unlikely to be with Zamalek when they clash with Ahli in the CAF Champions League next week as he did not train with the team since the start of pre-season.
