Juventus are willing to offer cash plus Tiago Mendes to Bayern Munich in order to sign Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, Corriere dello Sport reported. The Bianconeri have apparently failed in their attempts to sign Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso and Inter's Dejan Stankovic. They have now turned their attention to Schweinsteiger, Italian paper Corriere dello Sport said. Although he had a disappointing season with Bundesliga champions Bayern, Schweinsteiger impressed during Germany's EURO 2008 campaign. The 23-year-old scored two goals to help the three-time European champions reach the tournament's final, where they will face Spain on Sunday. Juve are willing to offload Portuguese midfielder Tiago in order to lure Schweinsteiger to Turin. Tiago failed to establish himself since joining Juventus from Olympique Lyon in the summer of 2007.
