Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with PSV Eindhoven to sign Brazilian keeper Heurelho Gomes, the Premiership side announced on Friday. Spurs said on their website that the deal is subject to the player agreeing personal terms, passing a medical examination and obtaining his work permit. Gomes will compete with England keeper Paul Robinson for a regular place in Juande Ramos' squad. The 27-year-old Gomes is no stranger to Tottenham fans, having played against their team in last season's UEFA Cup. He saved a Jermain Jenas spot kick to help Eindhoven claim a 6-5 penalty shoot-out victory over Tottenham.
