Arsenal full-back Gael Clichy has signed a multi-year contract to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium, the London club announced. Neither the length of the new contract nor the financial terms were revealed. Clichy, 22, was courted by Italian clubs Roma and Juventus after impressing with the Gunners last season. But the Frenchman preferred to commit his future to Arsene Wenger's side, unlike several players, who consider departing Arsenal after a disappointing season. Clichy joined Arsenal in 2003 from Cannes and has been the regular left-back for Wenger after Ashley Cole's move to Chelsea.
