Juventus midfielder Pavel Nedved revealed on Friday that his family played a pivotal role in his decision to extend his contract with the Bianconeri. The former Czech Republic man contemplated retiring from professional football at the end of the season. He backtracked on his decision later on before penning a one-year contract extension with Juventus. The 35-year-old was grateful to his family, who convinced him to carry on for another season. "Speaking to my wife gave me the right motivation when I was edging towards retiring," he was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia. "And my son, who has hasn't been particularly interested in football until recently, has been watching all the Champions League games on TV this year. "We hardly talk about football at all at home and so that amazed me. I thought that if my son watches the Champions League then that's a further reason to continue."
