LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham said he would be honored to be capped by his country for the 100th time but insisted that would not be the end of the road for him. Beckham is in line to register a century of international games when England take on 2006 World Cup finalists France in an international friendly in Paris on Wednesday. "I never thought a year ago or two years ago that I would make 95 caps, never mind 100," Beckham told a press conference in London on Monday. "I'm honored that I'm making, hopefully, my 100th appearance in an England shirt but I'm also honored to be doing it against one of the best teams in the world."
Capello The 32-year-old midfielder was recalled to the national squad by his former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello. "I've enjoyed it, enjoyed being back with the guys and training was great so I am very happy," added Beckham. The former Manchester United ace made it clear that he is not planning on international retirement after completing the milestone. "As much as I'm honored to be here I want it to carry on. It doesn't stop here for me. It's not about 'have your 100th game and then retire'. It's about carrying on trying to play well for my country." Capello has not yet chosen a captain officially, but current skipper John Terry has made it clear he would be happy to pass on the captain's armband to Beckham if he starts or comes on against France.
