Petrojet came from behind to beat Baladeya 2-1 away from home on Thursday and claim their first Egyptian League victory in four matches. Striker Hossam Osama, who arrived from Tersana in the January transfer window, put the hosts ahead after 13 minutes. He met Reda Al-Azab's cross from the right flank with a superb diving header into the back of the net. Petrojet midfielder Mohamed Samara leveled the score in the 27th minute after unleashing an unstoppable long-range drive into the near-post top corner. Mohamed Farouk, who deputized for the injured Alaa Ibrahim, sealed the victory for the visitors five minutes before the break when he headed home a left-wing corner. Petrojet moved to second spot in the league table with 36 points, one ahead of third-placed Al-Gaish, who still have two games in hand. Baladeya slipped to the bottom on 17 points after Ittihad ended a poor run of results with a precious 1-0 home win over Telecom Egypt. Hossam Abdul-Moneim scored what proved to be the winner one minute before the break. The relegation battle is expected to be fierce this season. Baladeya, Ittihad and Masri all stuck at the bottom with 17 points each, but the latter have a game in hand.
