Petrojet dumped out of Egyptian Cup
Published in FilGoal on 05 - 03 - 2008

An unfortunate Petrojet side slumped to a surprising 1-0 defeat to Harras Al-Hodoud on Wednesday to suffer a quarter-final exit from the Egyptian Cup.
Despite Petrojet's complete domination, Al-Hodoud managed to score against the run of play before sitting back to defend their lead.
Ahmed Abdul-Ghani scored the winner in the 25th minute when he towered to head home a left-wing corner.
"I'm pleased with the win, but my players are to blame for their unexplained defensive display," Al-Hodoud manager Tarek Al-Ashri said after the match.
"They should have at least tried to hit Petrojet on the break after scoring the opener."
Petrojet were unlucky not to grab the lead on a couple of occasions in the first-half.
Osama Mohamed's left-footed shot few minutes after the kick-off cannoned off the cross bar. Shortly after, Ahmed Shaaban's powerful bullet was denied by the post
Al-Hodoud advanced to the semi-finals where they will face the winners of Zamalek's clash against Suez Cement.
ENPPI Progress
One-time cup winners ENPPI also progressed to the semi-final after claiming a 1-0 victory over struggling side Ittihad.
Ivorian striker Vincent Die Foneye notched the decisive strike in the 26th minute.
The petroleum club will play either Arab Contractors or Aluminum, who face each other on Thursday.
