Angola storm back to defeat Senegal
Published in FilGoal on 27 - 01 - 2008

Manucho scored twice as Angola fought back from a goal down to claim a 3-1 victory over Senegal and boost their chances of reaching the African Cup of Nations quarter-finals.
Abdoulaye Faye put Senegal ahead in the first-half but striker Manucho notched a double in the second period to frustrate the Teranga Lions.
The Manchester United newly-signed man took his tally to three goals in two matches.
Ahli striker Flavio Amado sealed the victory for Angola 12 minutes from time.
The victory put Angola in charge of Group D with four points, three ahead of Tunisia and South Africa, who face each other later in the day.
El Hadji Diouf tried his luck after five minutes when his 20-yard drive went over the bar.
Senegal attacking trio Diouf, Diomansy Kamara and Mahamadou Niang troubled Angola defense but Lama was rarely threatened in the first half.
Faye put Senegal ahead in the 20th minute with a simple header at the far post after Souleymane Diawara headed Diouf's deep free-kick into his path.

Angola pushed forward in the second-half searching for the equalizer and their attempts proved fruitful five minutes after the break.
Manucho leveled the score when he connected with Ze Kalanga's left-wing cross to power a superb glancing header into the far top corner of the net.
Senegal had a decent chance to restore their lead four minutes later, thanks to some eye-catching moves.
Niang stepped over Kamara's pass and ran into the area to receive Diouf's neat pass, but his inaccurate shot missed the target.
Kamara fired a low shot from the edge of the area in the 61st minute but his effort went just wide of the post.
Four minutes later, Angola striker Maurito skillfully tricked his marker and smashed a powerful drive which was tipped over the bar by Senegal guardian Tony Sylva.
However, the Lille guardian committed an error which helped Angola go ahead.
He failed to handle an easy cross seven minutes past the hour mark, allowing Manucho to strike home after a goal-mouth scramble.
Flavio killed off Senegal hopes in the 78th minute with a free header past Sylva.
