Nicklas Bendtner's father hit back at his son's Arsenal teammate Emmanuel Adebayor after the player's row during the Carling Cup semi-final defeat at Tottenham. Bendtner had to quit the game with a cut on his nose. The Gunners captain William Gallas and referee had to intervene stop their dispute. "It's a shame that a player like Adebayor walks out on the pitch without a brain, that he leaves it at home," he was quoted saying on Skysports.com. "It's not the first time he's done that. It's obvious that Adebayor has to defend himself, but the television pictures tell you what happened. Arsenal conceded their first defeat against the Spurs in nine years. English daily newspaper the Sun said on Thursday that Adebayor told Bendtner; "I'm only on because you are so s**t!"
