Ghaly fury at Tottenham
Published in FilGoal on 29 - 11 - 2007

Hossam Ghaly said on Thursday he does not regret throwing his shirt to the ground after being substituted in Tottenham Hotspur's Premiership game against Blackburn back in May.
"It was a normal reaction, given what Tottenham did against me," Ghaly told Egyptian TV.
"Tottenham didn't allow me play 30 matches to receive the bonus included in my contract. Furthermore, they didn't fulfill their promise of extending my contract."
The Egyptian midfielder's furious reaction cost him his place in Tottenham's squad under former Spurs manager Martin Jol.
He then apologized for losing his temper, but things didn't go so well for him afterwards.
Ghaly failed to make a single appearance with Tottenham and was set for a move to Birmingham City in the close season, but the deal fell through.
Deal Collapse
Ghaly criticized his teammates when he began training with Birmingham, to the frustration of the then Blues' coach Steve Bruce.

Consequently, the club opted not to proceed with the deal as the 25-year-old's future in the Premiership became increasingly uncertain.
He believes he took the right decision in snubbing The Blues.
"The players lacked ambition there. They were just talking about how to escape relegation."
New Interests
Ghaly revealed that Premiership struggling duo Derby County and Sunderland are interested in acquiring his services.
"They made approaches but no concrete offer has been tabled. Things will become clear next month as the transfer window is looming," he said.
The former Feyenoord man is training with his former club Ahli in order not to lose match fitness. However, he denied that he may return to Egypt.
"I'm not interested in moving back to Egypt. Ahli also never said they want me back."
