Empoli punish wasteful Roma
Published in FilGoal on 04 - 11 - 2007

Sebastian Giovinco's stoppage-time free-kick helped Empoli come from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 home draw with Roma in the Serie A on Sunday.
French winger Ludovic Giuly put the visitors in front after 13 minutes with a low curling shot from inside the area after being fed by David Pizarro.
Onrushing Matteo Brighi doubled the lead in the 32nd minute when he powerfully headed home Mancini's pinpoint cross from the left.
Roma created several clear-cut chances afterwards but were guilty of squandering them all, paving the way for the hosts to have a lifeline.
Empoli skipper Ighli Vannucchi narrowed the gap seven minutes past the hour mark after launching a superb screamer into the top corner of the net.
Roma were made to pay for lack of cutting edge one minute into the additional time.
Giovinco spotted Alexander Doni off the line before floating a free-kick from the right into the far top corner to snatch a precious draw for Empoli.
Roma are third in the league table with 22 points, two adrift of leaders Inter Milan, who entertain Juventus later on Sunday.
