A second half strike from defender Sergio Ramos gave Real Madrid a precious 1-0 victory at Getafe in the sixth day of the Spanish Primera Liga on Sunday. The Spain defender hit an empty net to seal the victory after being set up by new signing Arjen Robben in the 65th minute. The home side was unlucky to be denied by the woodwork twice, in addition to a string of fine saves from Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas. Bernd Schuster's win over his former team kept Los Merengues in charge of the table with 16 points from six games. However, Villarreal and Valencia remained in the tail of the Spanish champions with 1-0 victories over Athletic Bilbao and Recreativo de Huelva respectively.
