Ahli concluded a memorable season by beating arch-rivals Zamalek 4-3 to clinch the Egyptian Cup title, but how did each player fare in the thrilling encounter. The FilGoal.com team gives you its assessment of each player (out of 10): Ahli players: Amir Abdul-Hamid (6): He pulled off some good saves but his display was far from consistent, he was to blame for Zamalek's opener due to his miscommunication with Ahli's defense duo Shadi Mohamed and Emad Al-Nahhas. Ahmed Al-Sayed (6.5): The central defender, who played instead of regular Wael Gomaa, was not bad but couldn't emulate the superb form of Ahli skipper Shadi. Emad Al-Nahhas (4): Despite having huge experience, Al-Nahhas continued his recent disappointing displays since returning from injury, failing to deal with the pace of Zamalek forwards. Shadi Mohamed (8): Undoubtedly Shadi is one of Ahli's top stars this season; he excelled in the cup final and his accurate positioning was pivotal in halting many attempts from Zamalek. Mohamed Shawki (4): His efforts were notable but he didn't give much aid to Ahli's defense. He was also too slow in switching play from midfield to attack. Hossam Ashour (5): His role wasn't that fundamental but at least he succeeded in intercepting many passes from Zamalek players. Islam Al-Shater (7): Was outstanding in terms of defensive duties and brilliantly dealt with Zamalek left-back Tarek Al-Sayed but lacked the attacking approach. Mohamed Barakat (9): He put in an impressive performance in the left-flank and continued his brilliance when he switched to the right, performing the defensive and attacking aspects very well. Mohamed Abou-Treika (9): The CAF Champions League hero once again proved to be Ahli's architect, scoring a goal and dishing out two assists to pave the way for the Red Devils' victory.
Zaki received his marching orders late in the game Emad Meteb (8): made up for his recent disappointing form and ended his goal-drought through a powerful shot; however, he missed some good chances which could have put the game to bed. Flavio (7): He was influential in Ahli's attacking attempts and made some silky passes but was replaced by Manuel Jose who was seemingly not satisfied with the Angolan striker's efforts. Substitutes: Osama Hosni (8.5): Despite missing a golden opportunity, which we could label the miss of the season as he shot wide with the goal at his mercy, Ahli fans will surely forgive Hosni, whose two goals in the second-half of extra time gave the Cairo giants a precious win. Ahmed Sedik (7): Jose's favorite substitute and he again repaid his boss by setting-up Hosni for the fourth goal that proved to be the winner. Ahmed Shedid (6): Was not instrumental and his introduction didn't make much difference, he could only hope to feature for few minutes next season after the return of Angolan winger Gilberto. Zamalek Mohamed Abdul-Monsef (7.5): He saved several dangerous opportunities from Ahli but was blamable for Ahli's fourth goal as he couldn't handle Hosni's weak header. Wissem El-Abdi (7): He was Zamalek's best defender and produced solid performance in the first-half until he was replaced at halftime after sustaining an injury, the substitution which completely turned things in favor of Ahli in the second period. Amr Al-Safti (6): His outcome was average as he hasn't played for a long time; he also failed to support Wael Al-Qabani after El-Abdi's substitution. Ahmed Ghanem (6): He started very well and made some dangerous crosses but his defensive display was disastrous. Tarek Al-Sayed (3): He neither exerted attacking efforts nor did his defensive duties, pa
