Ahli have reportedly snatched Beshir Al-Tabie from under the noses of their arch-rivals Zamalek, who recently announced that they have reached an agreement with Rizespor to sign the combative defender. An Ahli official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed to FilGoal.com the news but refused to reveal any details regarding the deal. Sources have said Al-Tabie has penned a three-year deal with Ahli worth $200,000 for his Turkish club. However, the player said his visit to Ahli was just to greet his 'friend' Adli Al-Qaeyi, who is the club's marketing director. "It is true that I have recently signed for Zamalek but the deal won't be completed unless the club pay the transfer fee to Rizespor," Al-Tabie told Egyptian radio. The Egyptian defender's agent said that in case Zamalek fail to pay Rizespor on Thursday morning, his client will be free to choose his next destination. Several Zamalek officials, who are attending the Cairo giants' Egyptian Cup semi-final against Asyut Petroleum, have denied all the reports saying the player has joined Ahli, according to Dream TV. Zamalek's former captain Khaled Al-Ghandour, who acted as a mediator to finalize the deal with Rizespor officials, claimed yesterday that the deal is all but done for $150,000. However, it seems like Konyaspor have accepted a higher bid from Egyptian and African champions Ahli.
