Former Zamalek star Khaled Al-Ghandour said that he has contacted Tunisian defender Hatem Trabelsi in an attempt to bring him to the Cairo club next season. The Tunisian international is currently un-attached after being released by Premiership side Manchester City, following the expiration of his contract this summer. "I have approached Trabelsi upon the request of Zamalek manager Henri Michel," Al-Ghandour told FilGoal.com exclusively. However, Al-Ghandour, who is volunteering to help his former club without holding an official staff role, admitted that signing Trabelsi is very difficult. "The player did not totally rule out a Zamalek move, but he revealed that he has received better European offers, which makes it difficult for Zamalek to snap him up. "But in case we succeeded in signing Trabelsi, his arrival could be a major boost to the Zamalek squad." Al-Ghandour played a huge role in Zamalek's recent summer signings including defense duo Beshir Al-Tabie and Jordanian Khaled Saad. The former Egypt international said that he will accompany Al-Tabie to Turkey on Monday morning to finalize his transfer from Rizespor to Zamalek.
