Masri president Sayed Metwali has confirmed that Ahli defender Mohamed Sedik will be joining the Port said-based club next season. "We have agreed terms with Ahli officials over the signing of Sedik, but the details of the deal will be announced after the season's end," Metwali told Dream TV on Saturday. Sedik met with Masri new boss Helmi Toulan, and the former Arab Contractors and Zamalek defender has shown interest in joining in. "The player welcomed the move and the deal should be concluded by the end of the Egyptian Cup next month," Metwali added. Metwali revealed that Ahli proposed a part-exchange deal for Masri goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Shennawi or forward Mohamed 'Doudi' Al-Gabbas in return for Sedik, but his club rejected the offer. Ahli admitted they have received an offer for Sedik's services but insisted they are yet to accept it. "It's true that Masri have tabled a bid but Ahli's football committee hasn't taken any decision yet," Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi said. "The committee will ask the technical staff whether they need the player for the upcoming season. Sedik also has to be informed; we don't know what will be his decision after his latest health problem." Sedik fell unconscious during Ahli's match against Al-Gaish in the Egyptian Cup quarter-finals after a mid-air collision with keeper Wael Khalifa. The 28-year-old stopper joined Ahli from arch rivals Zamalek last summer but he failed to establish a regular first-team place.
