Egyptian duo Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa and Mohamed Abdullah led Konyaspor to a crucial 2-0 home victory over 10-man Ankaragucu in the Turkish League on Sunday. Midfielder Neca opened the score line in the 36th minute before Eren Sen doubled the lead one minute before the interval. Ankaragucu's Aytekin Viduslu was sent-off in the 34th minute for making a rash tackle. The victory lifted Konyaspor to third place in the league table with 38 points to maintain their slim hopes of reaching the UEFA Cup next season. Defender Al-Saqqa and former Ahli right-back Abdullah played the full 90 minutes and put in an impressive display. Abdullah set-up Neca for the opener when he brilliantly side-stepped two defenders and went through on goal before feeding the Portuguese midfielder for the easiest tap-ins. Al-Saqqa blocked a golden opportunity for the visitors midway through the second-half when he cleared a shot off the line after it evaded Konyaspor keeper.
