Mainz's official web site has announced that Mohamed Zidan's fan scarf 'Walk like an Egyptian' is available again at the fan and online shop of the club. The scarf, which went on sale after Zidan won the vote by club fans for the player of the month for February, saw a limited edition of 250 pieces soon run out of stock, but it was announced on Monday that the scarf which costs 12.6 Euros is available again. The item has the design of the Pyramids at the center with the phrase 'Walk like an Egyptian', as well as a picture of fan favorite Zidan on the right and the club's badge on the left. Zidan scored seven times for Mainz in 2007 since joining from Werder Bremen in January, helping the relegation battlers register a record of 6 wins in 9 games.
These results took Mainz from bottom zone to 13th place in the Bundesliga after the winter break. The 24-year-old striker is enjoying a successful spell under the management of Jurgen Klopp and will look to maintain the fine form in order to keep his team in the Bundesliga. Zidan has been named in the Egyptian squad that will face Mauritania in the 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday.
