Egyptian forward Mohamed Zidan has been named German Bundesliga Player of the Month in a poll carried out by German sports daily Kicker, DSF channel and the Bundesliga organizing committee. The 25-year-old won over 50% of the votes for the immediate impact he made at his new club Mainz since moving from Werder Bremen during the January transfer window. Mainz manager Jurgen Klopp believes the former FC Midtjylland is yet to produce his best. "The boy can still do more!" Klopp told Kicker on Thursday. The pacey Egyptian international scored six goals in five games for Mainz so far this season, taking the club away from the relegation zone to the 10th position in the league table. Zidan, who had a loan spell at Mainz last season, joined Bremen for a fee of $3.9 million; the club's biggest ever signing. اHe will be out to repay voters when Alemania Aachen host Mainz in a league game on Sunday.
