Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho fears the worst after left-back Ashley Cole sustained what looked like a serious injury in his side's 3-0 Premiership victory over Blackburn on Wednesday. Cole was carried off the pitch in the 52nd minute after crashing to the ground awkwardly near the touchline and Mourinho will be waiting anxiously on scans to determine the extent of the injury. "I don't exactly know what Ashley has done but it is serious - it must be because he cannot walk," Mourinho was quoted as saying by BBC Sport on Thursday. "The injury is in the knee and we have to wait for a couple of days to find out exactly what it is." However, Mourinho feels Chelsea should be able to cope with the presence of England international defender Wayne Bridge. "We are doing so many things to have a team to compete in all competitions and we must compete without Ashley. "In this moment we have Wayne Bridge who is playing a lot and playing well," the Portuguese added.
