Inter Milan equaled their record of eight Serie A consecutive wins after crushing Empoli 3-0 at Stadio Castellani on Sunday. The victory maintained Inter's position on top of the league table with 39 points, seven ahead of second-placed AS Roma, who face City rivals Lazio later on Sunday. Argentinean striker Hernan Crespo opened the score line on the hour mark when he slotted home into the empty net after Zlatan Ibrahimovic's brilliant header struck the crossbar. Swedish striker Ibrahimovic doubled the lead in the 78th minute with a powerful shot into the near post.
Milan dissapoint again Defender Walter Samuel put the icing on the cake three minutes from time when he received Nicolas Burdisso's neat cross with a superb diving header into the back of the net. Elsewhere, AC Milan's woes widened after they were held to a goalless draw by Torino at the Giuseppe Meazza. The Rossoneri wasted a golden chance to grab a precious win when Alberto Gilardino's shot from a penalty kick hit the post. Milan then were lucky to escape with a draw after the bar denied two successive efforts from Torino striker Roberto Muzzi. The Italian giants are in 15th place of the league table with 13 points while Torino lie 10th on 18 points.
