Inter Milan failed to beat relegation underdogs Reggina who held the Serie A leaders to a 0-0 draw at the Stadio Oreste Granillo, while second placed Roma beat Catania 2-0 away to keep the chase with Inter. The Nerazzuri remain in full charge of the Serie A table on 80 points though, with a massive 18-point gap ahead of the Romans. Roberto Mancini's team missed a host of key players before the game, as top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, midfielder Dejan Stankovic and defender Maxwell were all ruled out with injuries, in addition to the long-term absentee, Patrick Vieira. Inter's draw means that this is only the 6th point to be dropped by the leaders this season, as they still preserve an unbeaten Serie A campaign. Title rivals Roma had to thank Francesco Tavano and Mirko Vucinic whose goals sealed a comfortable away victory at middle of the table Catania. At the bottom, Parma had to wait till the 90th minute to grab a precious 1-0 victory at Livorno courtesy of a Giuseppe Rossi strike, while rock bottom Ascoli were crushed 4-0 at Fiorentina. Lazio continued their impressive unbeaten run by edging second from bottom Messina 1-0 to maintain a 13-match unbeaten record. AC Milan will face Empoli later on Saturday fighting for a 5th place spot to secure UEFA Cup appearance next season.
