Zamalek striker Amr Zaki has received two offers worth 2 million sterling pounds each from the Premiership through a player agent. Football management company, ‘4 Steps', has sent Zamalek a fax, on behalf of the two English clubs, confirming their interest in signing Zaki during the January 2007 transfer window. The fax stated that Zaki will have to travel to England to undergo a trial period and medical examination. The 23-year-old player will already be traveling to London with the Egyptian national team for an international friendly against South Africa on November 15th. Even though the fax did not name the clubs interested in signing Zaki, FilGoal.com can confirm that Manchester City is one of them.
A copy of the fax sent to Zamalek Zaki had been linked with City and Blackburn Rovers in the summer, but Zamalek insisted the player was not for sale. Zamalek officials were not impressed by the 2.5 million-Euro offer that the former ENPPI player received at the time. But Zaki, who signed for Zamalek in the summer after an unsuccessful spell with Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow, told FilGoal.com that he's hopeful the club will allow him a move to the Premiership this time around. The fax that came from ‘4 steps' company made it clear that the 2 million pound offer is negotiable and urged Zamalek officials to reply as soon as possible. Zaki was a member of Egypt's squad that won the African Cup of Nations on home soil in February.
