"This banner doesn't represent the sentiments of neither Port Saied nor Masri's fans," Metwalli said in an interview on Dream TV late on Friday. "A small faction of the fans was behind this banner, and I will find the people responsible for doing such a thing," he added.
An opposing banner saying that Port Said loves Ahli Metwalli went on to accuse Zamalek fans for the incident. "The relation between Masri and Ahli is very good," he said. "I believe a number of Zamalek's supporters are the ones who put up this banner." Asked about the reason why the standoffish banner was not removed from the stadium before the game, Metwalli said: "We wanted to, but the police insisted that removing the banner could cause frenzy."
