Ahli turned down two European offers for Mohamed Abou-Treika and Emad Meteb because the team can't afford letting them go currently, the club said. The administration refused an offer worth $8.5 million for international playmaker Abou-Treika from a Premiership club, Ahli's marketing manager Adli Al-Qayei told FilGoal.com on Sunday. Al-Qayei, though, refused to reveal the name of the English club. Egypt striker Emad Meteb was approached by German side Kaiserslautern who set a $1.8-million bid to land him, he said. But Ahli decided to hold on to their stars because of the busy local and African calendars, according to Al-Qayei. The Egyptian and African champions have reached the Champions League final where they will play Tunisia's Sfaxien. If they won, they will have to play the African Super Cup in with the Confederation Cup holders in December. The duo was instrumental in Ahli's campaigns towards the domestic double, the Champions League and the African Super Cup last season. They were also effective members in Egypt's squad that won the African Cup of Nations earlier this year.
