Newly-promoted side Reading held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw in their Premiership game on Saturday. Reading took the lead through a Kevin Doyle spot-kick in the 48th minute before Cristiano Ronaldo equalized midway through the second-half with a powerful low shot. Manchester, who lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal last week, now lie in third spot with 13 points. Reading moved up to seventh place three points less. Doyle grabbed a surprising lead three minutes after re-start when he slammed a powerful spot-kick that touched the right hand of United keeper Edwin van Der Sar before hitting the back of the net. The visitors equalized in the 73rd minute thanks to a solo effort from Ronaldo who darted from the left flank, cut inside past his marker and fired an unstoppable left-footer into the low far corner of the net. United applied big pressure on Reading in the remaining minutes but couldn't beat the airtight defense to secure only one point. Earlier on Saturday, Chelsea enjoyed a 2-0 victory in derby over Fulham to top the Premier League table. Arsenal grabbed the first home win of the season when they beat Sheffield United 3-0 and Liverpool produced a similar score line against Tottenham.
