Mohamed Zidan dished out an assist as Werder Bremen tied Hamburg 1-1 in their Saturday's Bundesliga encounter. The Egyptian international striker fed Germany's Tim Borowski to nip the ball between the goalkeeper's legs in the 58th minute. But defender Bastian Reinhardt equalized just ten minutes later to deny Bremen a much needed victory. Bremen are now in eighth place on seven points, three behind leaders Bayern Munich who came from behind to beat Alemannia Aachen 2-1 on the same day. Sascha Dum stunned the big crowd at Allianz Arena in the 38th minute as his deflected free-kick eluded Oliver Kahn and hit the back of the net.
Bayern Claudio Pizarro gave the visitors no time to celebrate as he headed home after just one minute to equalize. Dutch international midfielder Mark Van Bommel scored for the second successive game, unleashing a low shot home in ten minutes after the interval. But Bayern had to split the summit with Schalke, who defeated Wolfsburg 2-0. Kevin Kuranyi broke the deadlock in the 56th minute before Brazil's Lincoln sealed the win two minutes from the final whistle. Schalke took their point tally to 10, with Bayern still leading on goal difference.
