Al-Ahram Advertising Agency has bought the sponsorship rights for Egyptian football in a deal worth EGP 37.12 million, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said on Monday. The sponsorship deal with the renowned advertising agency, which was announced by EFA president Samir Zaher in a press conference, is for four years. Al-Ahram were the highest bidders in the auction held to improve the EFA's finances. Zaher said that the money increased the EFA's capital to a total of EGP 82 million after striking several broadcast deals worth over EGP 41 million. Zaher said these steps were taken in order to help the EFA become more self-sufficient and decrease their dependency on governmental organizations.
