Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger said his side's 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday was crucial as it brought the Premiership title race back on track. "A loss could have been decisive but this win reinforces the belief that we are a very strong side," Wenger was quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I would never have thought that our challenge would have been over if we had lost but psychologically it might have been difficult for the players." Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor struck the winner in the 85th minute to give the Gunners their first local victory this season. "We controlled the game and created chances. We always looked good technically. Everyone in the team played well, gave everything and showed quality," the French tactician said. On the other hand, United boss Alex Ferguson said his side's efforts were not enough to maintain the team's perfect start in the new season. "I can't deny Arsenal deserved to win the match. We had some chances, particularly in the first half we had some excellent opportunities but not enough to win the match," Ferguson told Sky Sports Network. "I don't think we lost overall control of the match, but in the last 25 minutes I thought Arsenal were much stronger."
