Germany manager Jurgen Klinsmann said that he is satisfied with his team's performance in the 2-0 win over Sweden in the World Cup second-round game that was played in Munich on Saturday. The Germans cruised to the last 16 thanks to two first-half goals from striker Lukas Podolski that handed them the win over Sweden, and Klinsmann couldn't hide his delight after the game. "It couldn't be better, as coaches we are incredibly proud of this team, it is incredible what we achieved today," Klinsmann told a press conference. "We played at a high tempo and decisively in every phase," he added. Germany kicked-off the game strongly and scored twice within the first twelve minutes, but despite Sweden being reduced to ten men, the German performance slowed down in the second-half. "We went in highly concentrated but strangely enough the red card took our rhythm away, the penalty could also have been a turning point but we are excited by the team and how they played," Klinsmann said. The German boss added that it was a very good display that gave him much confidence in his team players ahead of their quarter-final game. "It was a top operation, we were prepared and we respected them, we didn't want to concede a game and didn't want to give them any breathing space." Meanwhile, Sweden coach Lars Lagerback said that despite the elimination, he is more than glad with the way his players fought against the German team. "I'm very proud with the way we played in the second half, but we let in two easy goals at the beginning, after that it was very difficult for us," Lagerback said. "It is difficult to beat anyone with 10 men, especially a team like Germany but my players showed a lot of character," he added. Lagerback said he wasn't going to blame the referee's decisions for the defeat but agreed that the referee played some role in eliminating his team. "I don't want to speak about the referee, but he had some influence on the game, maybe he didn't stand up to the pressure."
