The Miami Heat won the first NBA title in their 18-year history after beating the Dallas Mavericks 95-92. Heat's first away win over the Mavericks on Tuesday, capped a memorable comeback from a two-game deficit and finished off a thrilling best-of-seven series with a 4-2 victory. Dwyane Wade continued his outstanding performance for the fourth consecutive game, delivering 36 points and collecting 10 rebounds. "It's one of the best feelings, next to my wife and my son, that I've ever had in my life. I'm going to live it up," said Wade, who was named the finals MVP. Shaquille O'Neal, who secured his first ring with the Heat and the fourth ever, grabbed 12 rebounds and had only nine points. O'Neal, who pledged to get the NBA trophy to Miami when he moved from the Los Angeles Lakers two years ago, said he couldn't find his best form but praised Wade for stepping up and saving the series. "I didn't have the best game. But D-Wade's been doing it all year. He's the best player ever," the veteran center said. "I came to Miami because of this young fellow right here. I knew I wanted to make him better." Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points and picked up 15 rebounds for the Mavs but the German star's efforts weren't enough for the finals debutants to clinch the tile. Josh Howard chipped in with 12 rebounds and 14 points. "We made a lot of progress this year," Dallas coach Avery Johnson said. "This will really hurt this summer. I hope they work out hard, make me a better coach. I'm ready to try it again."
