Dwayne Wade posted 19 points as the Miami Heat downed the Minnesota Timberwolves 97-70 in NBA action on Monday. The rising forward flirted with a double-double as he registered 19 points, nine assists and six rebounds while all-star center Shaquille O'Neal added 16 points and seven rebound. Kevin Garnett scored 11 points and a similar number of rebounds for the Timberwolves while Wally Szczerbiak had 19 points. In Los Angeles, Sam Cassell scored 22 points and dished out seven assists to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 100-94 win over the Portland Blazers. Elton Brand also had double figures after registering 20 points and 11 rebounds. In Utah, Russian star Andrei Kirilenko notched 23 points, five assists and five rebounds to help the Utah Jazz clinch their fourth straight win with a 98-94 triumph over the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers struggled without suspended star Kobe Bryant. Brian Cook lead the Lakers scorers with 19 points. Lamar Odom added another 18 for the Lakers who failed to snap a four-game losing streak.
