Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann retired international football on Saturday after he wasn't named in Germany's squad for the World Cup. Hamann told Liverpool's official website that he wasn't surprised over Jurgen Klinsmann's decision to drop him and said this was the right time to call it quits. "It's not really a big surprise to me I wasn't in the squad," Hamann said. "That's it for me now at international level. I'm 32 now and this would have been my last tournament. "Now I'll just be watching the World Cup on television although I'll go to Munich for the first match." Hamann played in the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan, where Germany finished second and also featured for his country in 1998 in France.
